The ‘Greatest Spectacle’ in Sports Entertainment has come a long way since it’s first outing way back in 1985. It’s well known that Vince McMahon put it all on the line with this concept. Thankfully for McMahon and wrestling fans, WrestleMania has become the premier wrestling event of the year. Over nearly four decades, WWE has developed a long history of delivering the very best that sports entertainment has to offer every April. As such, hardened wrestling fans have come to expect excellence from the pay-per-view. For the most part, there is a standout moment worthy of the history books.
The larger than life showbiz aspect makes the event a spectacle, but the matches make it the ‘Showcase of the Immortals’ that wrestling fans have come to know and love. In this article, we examine 25 of the most epic WrestleMania matches of all time.
Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair WrestleMania 34
This entry is relatively new compared to the others. But it doesn’t stop it being any less epic or relevant. Going into the match, it felt like anything could happen, and that the win could easily go either way. On the one hand, there was Asuka, with her impressive undefeated streak intact.
On the other, was Charlotte Flair, a real force to be reckoned with, who had the SmackDown Women’s Championship to defend. Whether you think the streak ended too soon or not, these fierce women put on a well-paced barn burner of a match. It was evenly contested throughout until the finish, adding to the drama!
